My Thumbs are Connected Again

Wow! Isn't technology fun? So far I've signed up for accounts with Twitter, LinkedIn and Flikr.

The Twitter process was not complicated, however I don't seem to have any friends who use this media. As I'm not interested in following Charlie Sheen and company, I don't see much value in having this account.

I opened the Flikr account and posted a folder of photos directly from iPhoto. All seems to be well there although I need to explore further to find out what else I can do.

Strangely, LinkedIn took several days to send a confirmation to my email address. I finally have a minimal profile set up and have invited a first contact.

My biggest problem has been this blog! I wanted to change my email address and sent an email to Jordan asking how to do so. Before he responded, the email address magically changed. I haven't been able to identify why but it must have something to do with signing up for a gmail account. Unfortunately, that email address was not authorized so I have not been able to add posts all week.

Here's what I learned:
To change an email address, sign into your blog with the administrative email address, click on "Design" at the top right of the blogs homepage. Then click "My Account" in the same top right corner. In the top centre of the page you'll see Personal settings. You can change your email there. You will then need to add that email address as a contributor to your blog. Go into the settings > permissions page, click on "add authors" and make sure the new email address is listed there.

The process created lots of frustration for this boomer. Several emails to our helpful instructor later and ... voila, my thumbs are connected again!
